Addison Group is partnering with our client, a growing organization in the construction industry, to identify an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist. The ideal candidate will have strong accounts receivable experience, a customer-focused mindset, and familiarity with construction-related billing processes.
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for supporting the organization's credit and collections functions while ensuring accurate account maintenance and timely payment processing. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build productive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate new customer credit requests by reviewing financial documentation and assisting with credit approval decisions.
- Monitor customer account activity, maintain credit records, and help mitigate financial risk through ongoing account analysis.
- Manage collections efforts for outstanding invoices while maintaining professional and positive customer interactions.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies, billing concerns, and account issues to ensure accurate receivable balances.
- Support construction-related accounts receivable processes, including project documentation, payment tracking, and compliance-related paperwork.
- Reconcile customer accounts and assist with preparing reports related to receivables performance and aging balances.
- Contribute to month-end accounting activities by maintaining accurate records and supporting financial close procedures.
- Recommend and support process enhancements that improve collection efforts, reporting accuracy, and overall efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of accounts receivable, credit, collections, or related accounting experience.
- Previous experience working within the construction industry preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
