Commercial Litigation Associate

Job Summary: McGinnis Lochridge is seeking an associate with two to four years of commercial litigation experience to join our litigation team in Austin. We represent plaintiffs and defendants—from Fortune 500 companies to closely held businesses and individuals—in a wide range of matters in state and federal courts. Because of our client mix, associates gain unusually broad experience, contributing to multi‑attorney teams on larger matters with the opportunity for hands‑on experience on smaller matters, including depositions, hearings, and trials. This is an excellent opportunity for an associate seeking substantive experience, mentorship, and collaboration in a partnership‑track position. We are seeking an associate who can take an active role in all aspects of commercial litigation and oil and gas matters. An interest in oil and gas litigation is required; prior experience is a plus but not necessary. Responsibilities Participate in all phases of commercial litigation, from case assessment to trial. Handle oil and gas litigation matters, including depositions, hearings, and trials. Collaborate with multi‑attorney teams on larger matters. Support partner oversight and mentorship opportunities. Qualifications 2–4 years of commercial litigation experience. Interest and willingness to work in oil and gas litigation. Strong analytical, research, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a partnership‑track environment.
