Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

*Job Overview* We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our small therapy company in a PRN position with significant flexibility in the amount of work available. We provide therapy for both children in school and older adults in home. *Responsibilities* * Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs. * Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, and mobility exercises, fostering independence and confidence. * Monitor and document patient progress accurately, ensuring compliance with medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and anatomy fundamentals. * Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and strategies to promote ongoing recovery at home or in outpatient settings. * Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines specific to occupational health standards. * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and update care plans as needed. *Experience* * Hands-on experience working with geriatric populations or pediatric patients is highly desirable. * Familiarity with on campus or home healthcare will enhance your effectiveness in this role. * Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and occupational health principles that underpin effective patient care delivery. * Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is required for employment.
