Mental Health Therapist

$100,000 / year Overview At CoreCivic, our mental health teams make lasting changes in the lives of offenders, setting the standards of care in the industry. The Mental Health Therapist provides non‑medical clinical mental health services in the facility. Responsibilities Conduct mental health screenings and assessments based on available records and clinical interviews with inmates. Provide treatment by developing, implementing, and modifying individual treatment plans based on an evaluation of needs and function. Document treatment and evaluation activities in the health care record for each person seen. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive materials and information at all times. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques through treatments and activities for individuals in caseload. Provide appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions to address the needs of inmates. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related clinical area. Five (5) years of clinical experience, including two (2) years in a comparable position. Must possess appropriate certification or licensing in the state of practice (e.g., LPC, LCSW, or LMFT).
