Position: Process Engineer IV Job Code: 2026-P2S-032 Location: Oak Ridge, TN Division: Engineering - 1.4.4 Duration: Direct Hire Company: Professional Project Services Inc. Job Description Lead and independently execute process engineering design activities for nuclear and chemical process systems Perform, review, and approve complex process engineering calculations Development and review of: Engineering calculations Process flow diagrams (PFDs) Piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) Process equipment specifications and data sheets Technical reports and formal design documentation Ensure process designs comply with applicable DOE requirements, nuclear safety expectations, and quality procedures Support design reviews, readiness activities, and technical evaluations Interface with mechanical, electrical, and I&C disciplines to ensure fully integrated solutions Serve as a technical lead or subject matter expert (SME) within multidisciplinary project teams and apply engineering judgment to resolve complex technical and regulatory issues Provide technical direction and mentoring to junior engineers and designers Support procurement, construction, startup, and operational readiness activities as required Review vendor submittals and technical documentation Support troubleshooting, design changes, and configuration control processes Job Requirements BS degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical degree or equivalent experience, 10+ years' experience Worked in process engineering roles within industrial, nuclear, or government facilities; U.S. Citizenship required Demonstrated experience with developing, reviewing and approving formal process engineering calculations Strong background in process system and equipment specification Experience working within regulated environments and structured engineering procedures Knowledge of AMSE B31.1 and B31.3 and ASME B&PV Code Preferred Qualifications Prior nuclear, DOE, or high-hazard facility design experience Experience with nuclear material or uranium processing systems Experience working under a formal quality program (ISO 9001, NQA 1) Professional Engineer (PE) license is not required but the ability to obtain is a plus Master\'s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and team-focused professional Federal Government Clearance: This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance and may require reviews and a background investigation by the Federal government to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, with possible reinvestigations.
