While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.


The Derivatives Sales Team is responsible for driving awareness, adoption and sales of Coinbase's derivatives trading platform among advanced traders globally. Team members manage business development, client relationships and service across the portfolio while collaborating closely with Product and other functions to enhance the offering and platform. Successful candidates will play a key role in Coinbase's growth strategy by introducing innovative crypto trading solutions and helping expand the client base.



What you'll be doing (ie. job duties):

• Sales associate role driving client acquisition primarily targeting prosumers/advanced retail traders
• Work with Marketing and Product managers to increase awareness of Coinbase and its Advance Trading capabilities along with its derivatives offering.
• Educate and bring on customers onto Coinbase's derivatives platform.
• Identify broader cross selling opportunities and leveraging the rest of the Institutional team.
• Work alongside product teams to further develop our product and make it number one in the asset class.
• Drive client acquisition and manage a portfolio of VIP global clients, ensuring strong, long-lasting relationships.
• Build rapport and deepen connections with existing clients through frequent, proactive communication, and relationship expansion.
• Develop and implement key customer service processes, establish management guidelines, and monitor the progress of high-priority clients.
• Analyze client behavior to uncover unmet needs, preparing in-depth customer analysis reports.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to deliver outstanding service solutions and a superior client experience.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

• 3+ years of sales experience in technical environment (ideally fintech, capital markets)
• 3+ years of experience managing a client portfolio including, but not limited to, institutional clients, high-net-worth individuals, advanced/sophisticated individual investors and traders.
• Broad understanding of derivative markets and products, along with experience in providing solutions to clients' needs.
• Passionate about the rapidly evolving crypto industry, with a commitment to staying current on the latest trends and innovations.
• Series 3 license, or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong team collaboration - This role crosses all functions of Coinbase (Platform, Consumer and Institutional) and across all Product, Legal, Marketing, and Sales. It is critical that this individual has strong cross-functional skills.
• Driven - This role will essentially be operating a start up within a start up, so the individual will need to be a self-starter and motivated to push for results without micro-management.
• Entrepreneurial - This individual will bring new ideas and methods to the table.
• Familiarity with Coinbase Advanced platform from a consumer perspective.
• Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean) in daily workflows, continuously learn as tools evolve, and apply human-in-the-loop practices to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.

• Advanced crypto trading knowledge
• Active in crypto focused social channels like X, Discord or Telegram
• Good knowledge of marketing tactics and outreach used by competitors in the crypto market

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position can range as detailed below. Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility and benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).


Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus):


$157,590-$185,400 USD
