About the Position

Contract | Nights | 13 Weeks | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend | No call requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 38-bed mixed ICU unit, primarily serving medical patients with exposure to neuro surgery and CV surgery cases
• Manage critically ill patients with varying acuity including those requiring ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Operate and monitor equipment including vents and hemodynamic devices; experience with CRRT is a plus
• Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
• Float to Med Surg and Stepdown units as needed
• Maintain patient ratios of 2–3 patients to 1 nurse while upholding safety and quality standards

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU/critical care nursing experience
• Must pass a medication and math competency exam with a score of 90% or higher prior to assuming medication administration responsibilities (one retake permitted)
• Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) including every other weekend

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CCRN or SCRN certification
• Experience with open heart recovery
• Hands-on experience with CRRT
• Team-oriented, collaborative personality with a patient-centered approach
