No. You are home every two weeks. From application to your own truck After you apply, a recruiter calls to look over your license and record with you. Next comes orientation, 2 days at most, with the hotel paid, your one-way bus ticket reimbursed and $300 for attending once you are hired. Then you ride 4 to 6 weeks with a mentor who coaches you on backing, trip planning, logs and fueling, and you are paid $850 a week while you learn. When you are ready, you get your own assigned truck, from a fleet about 1.5 years old on average with 10-speeds and automatics. On the road Outbound loads are preloaded. Some return loads are live load and unload, and a few need a pallet jack. Day and night dispatch, weekends included.
