Certified TeacherReports to the Building /Designated AdministratorThe teacher is responsible for creating a high-impact learning environment through engaging, standards-based instruction, fostering a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere, and demonstrating professionalism and collaboration.The teacher will employ diverse instructional strategies to meet students' academic, social, and emotional needs while contributing to a positive school community.Primary Responsibilities and Essential FunctionsLesson Planning, Instruction, and AssessmentDesign and implement clear, standards-aligned lesson plans with engaging activities for all learners, including students with specific support plans.Differentiate instruction using assessment data, learning profiles, and student interests.Integrate technology and multimedia to enhance learning and promote critical thinking.Utilize formative and summative assessments to measure progress toward standards.Set goals, progress monitor, analyze data to adjust instruction and provide specific feedback.Collaborate with colleagues to examine trends, determine interventions, and share strategies that support individual student needs, including students with specific support plans.Classroom Community and RelationshipsUse a variety of methods to promote active learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving.Create opportunities for collaboration, discussion, and meaningful participation.Provide actionable feedback to support student learning goals.Foster a classroom environment that establishes respect and acceptance for all.Build positive relationships to create trust and mutual respect and encourage collaboration.Establish and maintain clear routines, procedures, and expectations.Address disruptions proactively using restorative practices when appropriate.Organize classroom space effectively for various learning activities.Professional ResponsibilitiesMonitor and support students' needs, connecting them with needed resources as outlined in district policy and procedures.Communicate and collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.Uses effective and appropriate ways to engage with students, families, and stakeholders outside of the classroom.Stay current on instructional methods and technology and participate in required professional learning opportunities as mandated by district, state, and federal mandates and regulations.Adhere to school board policies, ethical guidelines, and the professional code of conduct.Actively interacts with all computer systems including but not limited to online forms, online training, and electronic mail.Participates actively in meetings, activities and in-service training opportunities and utilizes information received to improve performance.Communicates and interacts appropriately with building and central office administration and staff, co-workers, supervisors, students, parents and other members of the public.Exemplify professionalism and maintain accurate and confidential records while adhering to any established timelines as set by law, District policy, and/or building procedure.Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor as previously performed from time to time, such as other functions that are reasonably related to the employee's responsibilities.QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.Completion of an Ohio Department of Education-approved teacher preparation program.Valid Ohio teaching license or eligibility for licensure.Thorough knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards and district curriculum.Effective communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.Proficiency in the use of educational technology and digital learning tools.Experience in an urban educational environment, preferred.Commitment to a positive school community that promotes the safety and academic success of all students.Must pass a criminal background check and have fingerprints on file with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
