This collaborative environment delivers fresh thinking, reassuring our customers that they choose the best when they choose to work with the people of Dover Food Retail.What We Are Looking For:The welder is responsible for using hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.What You'll Be Responsible For In This Role:Read and follow written and verbal communication or instructionRead and interpret blueprints and work ordersWeld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positionsLay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulersExamine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specificationsRecognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipmentMust be able to adapt to rapidly changing situationsIdentify maintenance needed on equipment and toolingWork at different workstations as production needs requireMaintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly mannerUse proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation on individual's product line or work cellPerform other duties as assignedTo Be A Great Fit For The Role:Team oriented – values the synergy of a team and operates as a team playerEffectively collaborates, engages others in discussion and is hands-on in problem solvingA fast learner able to quickly come up to speed on business processes to manage and serve the needs of the organizationA passion for getting things rightCan-do attitude, committed to finding solutionsDemonstrated ability to read and comprehend blueprints and schematic drawingsDemonstrated proficiency with handheld tools and other measuring devicesDemonstrated proficiency with written and verbal communication and/or instructionPhysical Demands:Occasionally – sitting, walking, stooping/twisting, kneeling, squatting, pushing/pulling, reaching, visual acuity (near/far), and lift/carry up to 50lbsFrequently – standing, foot use, and lift/carry up to 25lbsConstantly – grippingThis position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.
