Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years of public accounting experience in audit/assurance
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting standards
• Experience working with healthcare organizations or continuing care communities
• Proven ability to lead engagements and supervise teams
• Experience with accounting and auditing software

Highly Preferred:

• CPA designation
• Experience with HUD, Cost Reporting, and GAGAS (Yellowbook audits)
• Experience with Single Audits
• Understanding of cash-basis tax accounting in healthcare

Position Overview

The Assurance Manager will oversee multiple client engagements within the healthcare industry, ensuring high-quality audit, accounting, and advisory services. This role involves managing teams, interacting directly with clients, and driving both technical excellence and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Engagement Management

• Lead and manage compilations, reviews, GAAP audits, and Yellowbook audits
• Oversee all phases of engagements including planning, staffing, scheduling, and execution
• Monitor budgets and timelines, ensuring projects stay on track

Technical Oversight

• Review financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedules
• Evaluate internal controls and develop audit programs
• Stay current on accounting standards and regulatory changes

Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff and senior associates
• Provide ongoing training, feedback, and performance evaluations
• Support professional development across the team

Client Relationship Management

• Serve as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery
• Communicate findings, recommendations, and value-added insights
• Identify opportunities for additional services and business growth

Advisory & Compliance

• Assist clients with entity selection, accounting systems, and process improvements
• Provide guidance on tax planning and compliance within the healthcare space
• Support audit processes including Single Audits and regulatory compliance

Business Development

• Participate in networking and client development initiatives
• Collaborate with firm leadership to expand client relationships and services
