Senior Systems Engineer

OverviewSCCI is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in support of the Weapons Control Support Services program! The successful candidate will be a key member of a high-performing DoD Weapons team. In this position you will collaborate closely with integrated product teams, including software, hardware, computing infrastructure, test, and operations engineers, to ensure a cohesive and fully integrated system design. This position is available for immediate hire and located in Dahlgren, VA.SCCI offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability benefits, 401k with Company Match, time off consisting of 2 weeks of paid vacation, 48 hours of sick/personal leave, and 11 paid Holidays.Responsibilities:Apply and execute systems engineering best practices for the definition, decomposition, design, and implementation of customer and end-user requirementsDevelop, manage, and deliver comprehensive software systems engineering, integration and testing documentation to support program execution and formal reviewsDocument system architecture designs, including the definition of component interfaces, while maintaining government-owned interface standardsDefine and document component and sub-component level specifications to guide developmentCollaborate closely with integrated product teams (IPTs), including software, hardware, computing infrastructure, test, and operations engineers, to ensure a cohesive and fully integrated system designConduct continuous integration testing throughout the development cycle to identify and resolve issues earlyDocument and manage System Trouble Reports (STRs) to track and resolve system anomaliesConduct data analysis from land-based test events, shipboard test events, and real-world events to assess FDS performance and document defectsAssess operational performance criteria and provide input for improving system performance and proposing future system design changes and enhancementsReview, understand, and ensure the implementation of policies, requirements, and guidance for the design, development, and certification of all FDS productsEssential Skills and Experience:Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active Secret Security ClearanceA Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, technical discipline or equivalent experienceFive (5) years of specialized experience developing training plans for weapon systems for air or surface platformsKnowledge as a Systems Engineer in support of Naval programs to include Systems Engineering planning, requirements, technical interpretation, performance specifications, technical specifications, test planning, test execution, test reporting, and other systems engineering documentationKnowledge of the acquisition life cycle and Systems Engineering Product Development policies, methods, tools, and practices as applied to Naval SystemsKnowledge in Naval combat system and weapon system development and integrationKnowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies, and proficiency in tools like Cameo, MagicDraw, SysML, or UMLAbility to work with limited oversight and to work across a cross-functional technical organizationAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingSCCI is committed to providing a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to meet the needs of employees and their families.
