Seven Healthcare are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist for a travel assignment at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Akron, OH. This role focuses on acute care for adults, utilizing state-of-the-art technology in a dynamic hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Respiratory Therapist

• Confirm physician orders, assess for appropriateness, and ensure quality patient care
• Notify physician, nurse, and hospital staff of any unusual patient reactions
• Assess, evaluate, and document patient tolerance and response to therapy
• Explain treatment procedures and address patient concerns
• Maintain a safe environment, promote customer satisfaction
• Perform respiratory/pulmonary procedures per department protocol
• Respond to emergencies and assist with CPR
• Set up and maintain equipment; administer medical gases and medications
• Complete billing information for services
• Participate in patient care teams and quality improvement programs
• Contribute to policy and procedure development
• Engage in educational activities for patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Attend in-services and maintain proficiency in respiratory care skills

Requirements of the Respiratory Therapist

• Graduate of an A.M.A. or CoARC approved program for Respiratory Therapists
• Valid Ohio RCP license from the State Medical Board of Ohio
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to effectively interact with patient populations while maintaining their self-respect and dignity
