Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room / PACUNorthern Navajo Medical Center is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse to support its surgical services department. This federal Indian Health Service hospital serves the Navajo Nation and provides essential healthcare services to American Indian and Alaska Native communities. This position works across the Operating Room, PACU, Pre-Op, Day Surgery, and Endoscopy departments. The facility performs a variety of procedures including general surgery, OB/GYN, dental, podiatry, and endoscopy cases.Schedule:Monday through Friday day shiftsTypical hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM to 4:00 PMApproximately 4 on-call shifts per monthMust be able to respond within 15 minutes when on callOn-site sleep room available during on-call assignmentsAdditional compensation provided for call-back hours workedResponsibilities:Complete pre-operative assessments and patient preparationStart IVs and administer medications as orderedServe as Circulating RN during surgical proceduresMonitor sterile field integrity and assist with surgical documentationProvide post-anesthesia recovery care in PACUMonitor patients for pain control, airway management, and recovery readinessSupport endoscopy procedures before, during, and after treatmentCoordinate care with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and support staffDocument patient care in electronic health recordsMinimum Qualifications:Active Registered Nurse license from any U.S. state or territoryMinimum of 2 years of Operating Room nursing experienceCurrent BLS, ACLS, and PALS certificationsAbility to pass a federal background investigationAbility to obtain Indian Health Service security clearancePhysician-issued fitness-for-duty certificationRequired Health Documentation:Hepatitis B vaccination series or positive titerMMR vaccination documentationVaricella vaccination or immunity documentationTdap vaccinationCurrent TB screening within the past 12 monthsAnnual influenza vaccinationBenefits:Competitive hourly compensationWeekly direct depositPaid sick leave accrualEleven paid federal holidaysPaid vacation eligibility after one year of serviceProfessional liability insurance providedFacility orientation and training includedGovernment-issued PPE and identification badge providedExtension opportunities available up to 30 months total contract lengthAbout Shiprock, New Mexico:Shiprock is located in the Four Corners region on the Navajo Nation.
