Registered Nurse (RN) - First Assist - $44-73 per hour

Overview Registered Nurse (RN) First Assist – Senior – Ongoing staff position in an outpatient surgery center. The RNFA works as a first assistant to surgeons, providing direct patient care in the operating room and collaborating with the perioperative team. Responsibilities Delivers intraoperative patient care as the first assistant to the surgeon(s) as a collaborative team member. Pre‑operatively performs a focused nursing assessment related to the planned procedure and analyzes assessment data to determine nursing diagnosis. Identifies and communicates desired patient outcomes throughout the perioperative continuum. Monitors patients’ response and modifies plan of care accordingly. Administers medications according to standard nursing practice and manages an individual plan of care that directs RNFA interventions. Implements, manages, and coordinates the perioperative plan of care related to RNFA interventions and evaluates patient progress toward attaining outcomes. Supports professional development and lifelong learning, seeking out learning opportunities and evaluating practice against current professional standards. Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families, providing education and incorporating research findings into practice. Practices ethically, advocates for perioperative health safety, and provides leadership within the profession and the practice setting. Maintains a constant state of alertness and works safely in a safety‑sensitive environment. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. 2‑5 years of RN experience. Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) or RN credential. Preferred Requirements 5‑10 years of nursing experience. Certified First Assistant certification.
