Apartment Maintenance Technician
Locations: Florence, Sumter & Columbia, SC
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

Olsten Staffing is currently seeking experienced Apartment Maintenance Technicians for premier apartment communities in Florence, Sumter, and Columbia, SC . If you have experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general maintenance, we want to hear from you!

Job Responsibilities

As an Apartment Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining safe, functional, and attractive apartment communities by:

• Performing advanced repairs on plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, appliances, and general maintenance items.
• Diagnosing and repairing heating and air conditioning systems, including replacing components and troubleshooting issues.
• Completing preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and extend the life of building systems.
• Assisting with apartment renovations, upgrades, and unit turns.
• Identifying, containing, removing, and preventing mold growth through proper remediation practices.
• Monitoring maintenance inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
• Providing guidance and training to entry-level maintenance technicians.
• Communicating professionally with residents regarding maintenance requests and repair timelines.
• Following all OSHA and company safety procedures while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of apartment maintenance or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • HVAC systems
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical repairs
  • Appliance repair
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
• Leadership skills to mentor junior technicians.
• Ability to lift, bend, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
• Must provide your own basic hand and power tools.
• Must be flexible to work weekends, evenings, and on-call rotations as needed.
• Trade school education or maintenance certifications are a plus.
