Job Title: Production Associate Job Description

The Production Associate supports a small manufacturing team by handling materials, cutting customer orders to size, and operating various saws, machines, and presses. This role requires precise measurement skills, safe and efficient machine operation, and consistent attention to detail to help produce high-quality products such as spiral staircases.

• Handle and move materials safely and efficiently within the production area.
• Cut customer orders to specified sizes using various saws, machines, and presses.
• Read and interpret measurements using a tape measure and other measuring devices to an accuracy of 1/8, 1/16, or 1/32 of an inch.
• Operate production equipment such as drill presses, punch presses, and brake presses in a safe and consistent manner.
• Perform general production tasks including assembly, packaging, packing, and general labor as needed.
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and preparing materials for shipment.
• Work in a cleanroom or controlled environment when required, following all cleanliness and safety standards.
• Inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality and specification requirements.
• Use hand tools and basic equipment to support production and material handling tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
• Communicate clearly with team members, ask questions when clarification is needed, and follow instructions accurately.
• Stand and remain physically active throughout the entire shift to meet production demands.
• Work overtime when required to support production schedules and customer needs.

• At least 6 months of machine operating experience, including work with equipment such as drill presses, punch presses, or brake presses.
• At least 6 months of experience reading and using a tape measure accurately.
• Ability to read and use measuring devices to an accuracy of 1/8, 1/16, or 1/32 of an inch.
• Ability to perform general production tasks such as assembly, packaging, packing, and general labor.
• Basic experience with shipping and receiving activities, including loading materials.
• Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively in a production environment.
• Capability to stand on your feet and remain physically active for an entire shift.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to ask questions and seek clarification when needed.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety procedures.

• Experience working in a small manufacturing or family-run production environment.
• Background in general production, inspection, or cleanroom work.
• Familiarity with operating various saws, presses, and other production machinery.
• Comfort working in a small team of approximately three to four people in the cut operations department.
• Willingness to cross-train and support different production tasks as needed.
• Reliability and flexibility to work overtime when production demands increase.

This role is based in a very small, family-run manufacturing facility located in Zumbrota, MN. You will work closely with a team of about three to four people in the cut operations department, contributing to the production of items such as spiral staircases. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime required when necessary to meet production demands. The environment involves operating machines such as drill presses, punch presses, brake presses, and various saws, as well as performing general production, assembly, packaging, and shipping and receiving tasks. Some work may take place in a cleanroom or controlled area, requiring adherence to cleanliness and safety standards. The role is physically active and requires standing for the entire shift. Steel-toed boots and jeans are required attire for the full workday, and safety practices are emphasized throughout the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Zumbrota, MN.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
