Position Overview
Active Path Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and passionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our supportive team in Eugene, Oregon. In this full-time, remote position, you will play a crucial role in enhancing mental wellbeing through telehealth services. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing clients' mental health needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and providing therapeutic support via virtual sessions.

Work Environment
This role offers the flexibility of a remote work environment, utilizing telehealth technology to connect with clients. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will have access to a robust electronic health records (EHR) system that streamlines scheduling, documentation, and client management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments via video consultations to evaluate clients’ mental health statuses and needs.
- Formulate and implement tailored treatment plans grounded in evidence-based practices to address a spectrum of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, and substance abuse.
- Facilitate regular therapy sessions, both individually and in group settings, employing culturally responsive approaches to empower clients in their recovery journey.
- Utilize therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop coping strategies.
- Regularly monitor and document clients’ progress, adjusting treatment approaches as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide referrals to external healthcare providers, including psychiatrists or specialists, to coordinate comprehensive care when needed.
- Maintain confidentiality, adhering to ethical guidelines and professional boundaries in all client interactions.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will work with diverse clients across various age groups and backgrounds who present with a wide range of mental health challenges, from mood disorders to trauma-related conditions. Your expertise will be pivotal in helping clients navigate their unique struggles and encouraging them towards healthier, fulfilling lives.
Qualifications
- A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Oregon.
- At least four years of relevant experience in a clinical setting, demonstrating a sound understanding of mental health disorders and therapeutic techniques.
- Ability to provide empathetic, culturally competent care and foster a connection with clients from varied backgrounds.
- Proficiency in utilizing EHR systems and telehealth software to manage client sessions effectively.
- Strong communication skills, enabling you to build rapport and trust with a diverse clientele.
Preferred Experience
- Demonstrated experience in emergency and crisis intervention strategies in a telehealth setting.
- Prior experience conducting group therapy sessions and facilitating workshops related to mental health awareness and coping strategies.
Compensation and Benefits
