Roadway Designer

What We're Looking For This position independently works on complicated and challenging design projects for various types of projects, providing seasoned solutions to Project Managers and Engineers. The role also develops standards for the Transportation Solution Center. Responsibilities Develop design standards within BU and Company through interactive partnership with stakeholders. Engage in monitoring project scope, schedule, and budget. Work independently to develop preliminary and finished designs by analyzing reports, programming, building codes, and client requirements. Coordinate project design with other disciplines for complex projects. Prepare design computations and cost estimates using software packages to validate findings. Anticipate construction-phase problems and resolve them by modeling the design for accuracy. Communicate with clients and attend client meetings. Coordinate deliverables among clients, teaming partners, and other disciplines. Perform quality review and provide feedback on drawings. Participate as needed in project proposals. Mentor less experienced designers and EITs, offering advice and knowledge. Review work of others for quality purposes. Education & Experience Qualifications Two-year degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Drafting, Surveying, or equivalent with 10 years relevant experience, or a relevant combination of education and experience. Apply seasoned knowledge through progressive experience to resolve issues. Provide resourcefulness and initiative to perform projects. Mentor less experienced designers and EITs, offering advice and knowledge. Review work of others for quality purposes. Why Join Us?
