Medical Unit Position

4 Medical is a 25-bed unit featuring 11 private rooms and 7 semi-private rooms. Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 during days, and 5-6:1 during nights. Nurses may occasionally care for 1 total care patient. Primary patient population includes stroke patients not needing TPA, as well as comfort care and hospice patients. Additional patient types include a variety of post-operative cases (amputations, drains, chest tubes, feeding tubes). Care for patients requiring heparin drips, wound care, altered mental status management, CIWA protocol, AKI, dialysis, and COPD exacerbations. Position requires RNs who are stroke certified. Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, with every other weekend and every other holiday required. Specialty: Adult Medical-Surgical Nursing.
