Diagnostic Radiologist (Physician)

Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT)CVP is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT) to join our team in providing support operations at the Atlanta VA Medical Center located at 1670 Clairmont Road Decatur, GA 30030. You'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to support quality healthcare delivery for Veterans. This is a part-time position. Working hours are any three days a week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are preferred.ResponsibilitiesPerform general diagnostic radiography, fluoroscopy, portable radiography, portable fluoroscopy, and operating room imagingPrepare and administer contrast materials under radiologist direction (e.g., GI studies, venograms, cystograms, arthrography)Accurately operate imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic-quality images while minimizing radiation exposureRead and report on a diverse mix of general diagnostic modalities, including basic neuro-imaging examinationsReview imaging orders and next-day cases as needed (minimum 2 hours daily)Provide clinical consultation to referring providers regarding imaging results and care plansCommunicate test results to patients and providers per VHA Directive 1088Record radiation dose data for fluoroscopy and portable fluoroscopy examsReview, validate, and process radiology ordersRegister, complete, cancel, and edit imaging exams in VA systemsPerform imaging studies according to urgency (STAT, urgent, routine, pre-op)Ensure image quality, repeat/reject analysis, and compliance with departmental quality thresholdsMaintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure images are properly uploaded to PACSFollow infection control, sterile technique, radiation safety, and VA safety policiesAssist radiologists/physicians during procedures and anticipate procedural needsIdentify patients correctly and ensure proper image labeling and documentationMonitor equipment functionality and report malfunctionsAdjust exam techniques based on patient condition and clinical needQualificationsMust be eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance; US Citizenship is requiredActive, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territoryBoard Certified in Radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificationPrevious Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist experienceActive DEA licenseNPI report printoutExperience with diagnostic and interventional radiology proceduresKnowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiologyProficient in the use of electronic medical records systemsStrong patient care and communication skillsPhysical ability to assist patients and operate equipment; capable of standing for long periods of extended time, lifting and/or transferring up to 50 lbsLocation: Atlanta VA Medical Center located at 1670 Clairmont Road Decatur, GA 30030.Shift: Working hours are any three days a week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
