The Aerial Lift Trimmer is responsible for trimming, pruning, and removing trees with the aid of a bucket truck or other equipment or tools.

Essential functions include following and enforcing safe practices, preparing truck and materials, performing professional tree maintenance activities, clearing and trimming trees and brush away from utility lines, maintaining and tracking tools and equipment, observing and practicing climbing and tree maintenance skills, assisting other crew members, safeguarding employees and public from hazards, and performing duties for storm work as needed.

Supervisory responsibilities include having no direct reports.

Experience requirements prefer prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries, and previous aerial lift experience.

Education requirements prefer a high school diploma or education equivalent.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include demonstrating a working knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices, identifying tree species, familiarity with electrical hazards and aerial techniques, working and maneuvering at considerable heights, possessing physical strength and agility, obtaining and maintaining first-aid certification and CPR, administering emergency rescue techniques, quickly removing oneself from danger areas, wearing necessary personal protective equipment, and traveling out of town for storm restoration work when needed.
