Manager

The Manager is responsible for managing client assignments and projects, delivering a high-quality service, and accurate and innovative work products. This includes coaching, advising and supporting team members in meeting client and self-development expectations.

Technical

Has attained a degree qualification and has obtained a CPA certification.

Manages and performs technical review of all tax returns, identifies and resolves major issues, and involves specialists as appropriate.

Has a general knowledge and application of the relevant professional standards, emerging laws and regulations, and corporate governance requirements.

Applies technical expertise and interprets laws, regulations and standards to formulate client-related recommendations. Utilizes knowledge of recently issued professional pronouncements and regulatory changes relevant to clients and prospective clients.

Displays advanced research skills and increased efficiency of research process.

Participates in client discussions of tax determination, risks, and exposure with client personnel at all levels of the organization.

Develops a thorough knowledge and understanding of tools and systems and processes and can apply them.

Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with the IRS and state taxation authorities including appeals, examinations, ruling requests and protests.

Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of IRS Circular 230 governing the practice of CPAs before the IRS.

Engages in self-motivated continuous learning to expand professional knowledge in area of industry expertise.

Is actively involved in the training process, including identifying training needs, and preparing and presenting training material.

Able to anticipate problems/barriers and helps develop plans to address them.

Client Service

Is a competent project manager - can plan, manage and deliver quality service on time and within budget.

Builds long term relationships with clients gains trust and respect based on demonstrated understanding of their business and ability to help achieve improvement goals.

Collaborates with Directors and Partners to address sales opportunities.

Applies new approaches to proposal development and effectively manages resources contributing to proposal initiatives.

Can identify the key stakeholders in a decision-making process and develop working relationships.

Always aware of opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients.

Actively participates in initiatives to recruit talented people including participating in career and recruitment forums, conducting interviews and providing time to speak with potential recruits.

Keeps informed of recruitment needs and uses external peer network and external relationships to refer potential candidates.

Develops business knowledge (market/industry trends) and has good communication skills.

Looks for opportunities to participate in external events to increase firm awareness in the community.

Meets with other professionals to build networking relationships.

Can identify the key stakeholders in a decision-making process and develop working relationships.

Staff Development

Provides guidance and support in career development opportunities for team members with support and feedback from Directors and Partners.

Shares and transfers knowledge with team members and develops a network of resources within the firm to facilitate the sharing of information.

Monitors and manages workflow for growth and development.

Follows up on assignments and holds others accountable for their internal deadlines and administrative responsibilities.

Develops a strong knowledge of the firm's services and systems and processes and can identify the appropriate resources to apply/deliver them.
