Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic

Overview Braen Stone Industries, the leading supplier of construction materials including stone, sand, asphalt, septic materials, recycled materials and agricultural limestone, is seeking an Equipment Mechanic to join our team. Location: 217 Limecrest Road, Lafayette, NJ, 07848, United States. Overtime status: Non-Exempt. This is a full-time hourly position with overtime paid after 8 hours per day. Hours of work may vary. After a probationary period of sixty (60) days, the employee will be required to join Local #472. Medical/Dental/Vision benefits are provided through Local #472 after union waiting period is satisfied. Note: All Braen Stone locations operate with a safety-minded approach. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on Company equipment (trucks, Tri-Axle trucks, forklifts, and Caterpillar and Komatsu heavy equipment). Possess your own tools. Have knowledge of modern technology (electronics) used in vehicles and heavy equipment. Demonstrate knowledge of hydraulic systems. Required Knowledge, Skills & Aptitudes Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience. Must be safety minded. Position Type / Hours This is a full-time position requiring travel to all Braen Stone locations. Exposure to high levels of noise, dust, and grease is expected. Hours are generally Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Saturday work may be required depending on business demand. Overtime is paid after eight (8) hours per day. Physical Demands Perform all job-related functions with clear understanding of relative physical demands. Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Standing for long periods, bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, crouching/crawling. Ability to distinguish and recognize sounds. Repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying heavy objects.
