Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a travel job in Knoxville, Tennessee.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist\n Discipline: Allied Health Professional\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 5, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with adult critical care and ED experience for a night shift position requiring ACLS, BLS, and TN state licensure.Details\n \n Work in the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics (RRT) department\n Adult critical care and emergency department patient population\n Performs nebulized medication therapy including AeroEclipse and Aerobika flutter valves\n Performs chest percussion and bedside parameters (FVC/NIF) for neuro population\n Utilizes V60 BiPAP and Comfort Flow Heated High Flow Nasal Cannula systems\n Operates transport ventilators and Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators\n Assists with Glidescope intubation and bronchoscopy procedures, including bedside bronchoscopies\n Assists with percutaneous tracheostomy procedures\n Uses Radiometer ABL 90 Flex analyzers\n Administers nebulized Epoprostenol and HeliOx services\n Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30\n 13-week assignment length\n Floating is conducted in accordance with facility policy and clinical experience of the worker\n Requirements\n \n Minimum 2 years of experience required\n Adult critical care and emergency department work setting experience required\n Active RRT certification required\n ACLS and BLS certifications required\n TN state license required if applicable\n NRP and PALS certifications preferred\n Cerner charting experience preferred but not required\n Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP, and CPAP\n Skilled in arterial punctures and drawing/interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)\n Experience with nebulizer therapy including hand held, T-piece, and trach collar methods\n Experience with oxygen therapy and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC)\n Experience with pulmonary function testing and bronchoscopy patient care\n Experience with in-hospital patient transport\n Additional Information\n \n Provide respiratory care services to adult critical care and emergency department patients\n Complete orientation and annual training modules as required by the facility\n Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff at this campus cannot return within 24 months, though they may work at another campus within the health system after 12 months\n Related or married travel team members cannot be assigned to the same unit\n Time off requests are not accommodated during major holidays or holiday weeks\n Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of the assignment start date\n Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility for travel rate eligibility\n Local candidates may be considered at a reduced rate\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-736069.
