Our 282-bed hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission. It offers adult acute and continued-treatment psychiatric care, forensic, adolescent and substance recovery services, and a 198-bed nursing home. Nearly 1,000 professionals work here around the clock on our 350-acre wooded campus in Whitfield.

What you'll do

As a CNA, you'll be a key part of the care team. You'll provide hands-on, direct care and help patients build the skills they need for daily life.

• Take and record vital signs, height and weight
• Help with care plan activities and patients' self-care skills
• Watch for changes in patients' condition and behavior, and report them to the nursing team
• Support rehabilitation, walking (ambulation) and safe patient transfers
• Talk with doctors, nurses, patients and families as part of a team from several disciplines
• Help teach patients about their care
• Encourage patients to take part in self-help, recreational, educational and social activities
• Take patients to offsite appointments when needed

What you'll need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 01 year of experience. New CNAs are welcome.
• Current Mississippi CNA certification [confirm whether Direct Care Training is also accepted]
• A patient, respectful approach to people living with mental illness
• Strong observation and communication skills, and a team-first attitude
• Male applicants ages 1826 must be registered with Selective Service
