Security Dispatcher

Job Highlights DePaul Hospital - St. Louis is seeking a Security Officer to join our team! Schedule: Part Time, Variable Shift, 3x8-Hour Shifts/Week Must be at least 21 years of age Position requires successful completion of a psychological evaluation via third party company All SSM Health standard hiring practices also apply (background check and drug screening) Job Summary Provides support to the Security department through monitoring requests for assistance, alarm and notifications and taking appropriate action. Job Responsibilities and Requirements Primary Responsibilities Processes incoming and outgoing radio assignments, obtains pertinent information from the reporting party, prioritizes the required department response, and dispatches Security personnel. Coordinates with other departments to obtain information, obtain and send assistance and/or provide essential information to support operations. Monitors and operates security handheld radio, emergency phones, access control, video management, and alarm systems/panels and answers telephone calls, obtains essential details, and provides call details to allow appropriate response by security department personnel. Monitors security personnel response and provides additional support and calls law enforcement, emergency medical services (EMS), and/or fire department when required. Maintains lost and found, valuables, and conducts audits periodically. Documents radio calls and dispatch actions, and completes security reports in accordance with departmental procedures and guidelines. Utilizes mass notification platforms to send out ministry communications and receive and announce weather, medical, and other clinical and security safety response codes. Performs other duties as assigned. Education High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience Experience No experience required Physical Requirements Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) to identify and distinguish colors. Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. Frequent keyboard use/data entry. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. Rare climbing.
