Working Title: Senior Housing Data Specialist - Hybrid Classification: HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST II Salary: $7,276.00 – $9,107.00 Location: Sacramento, Hybrid telework. Job Description And Duties Under general direction of the Housing Data Section Chief within the Data and Innovation Unit, the Housing and Community Development Specialist II (HCDS II) is responsible for independently conducting high‑level research and analysis, program development and policy recommendations for consideration by executives. The HCDS II contributes to the implementation of high‑priority research and data projects. Research and analysis is conducted on the most critical and sensitive issues that impact housing, including homelessness, land use and planning, public health, disaster preparedness and recovery, climate change, transportation, housing for special needs populations, and other projects based on the implementation of new legislation or other priorities. Additionally, the HCDS II serves as a conduit between the Housing Policy Development Division and external stakeholders—such as other state departments, members of the academic community, advocacy groups, and legislators—to implement high‑priority research initiatives and build new strategic research partnerships. Note: Effective July 1, 2025, a 3% salary reduction is in place under the Personal Leave Program (PLP), with 5 hours of Personal Leave Credit earned monthly in exchange. This program is subject to change based on union agreements and state budget policy. Reporting: This position requires reporting to an HCD office a minimum of four days per week. In limited cases, the HCD may approve temporary remote‑centered work until appropriate office space becomes available. Under California Government Code Section 14200, telework‑eligible employees must reside in California. The designated headquarters location will be based on the employee’s primary residence.
