About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Staff Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 6 months - 3 years of nursing experience required License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate preferred Must-Have: Chemo administration experience preferred but not required. Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting preferred. Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. Preventing illness and injury and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. Advocates in the care of individuals and families. Responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. Follows the Nursing Practice Act and policies related to nursing practice. Promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Responsible for assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. Manages a group of patients while serving as a primary or accountable nurse, as designated by unit assignment. Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, and impact in nursing care delivery. Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Utilizes knowledge of pharmacology and administers medications safely according to established policies. Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. Complies with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. Actively participates in Nursing Shared Governance by supporting unit councils and improvement initiatives. Engages in professional development and continuing nursing education. Completes all mandatory education requirements. Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Follows established values and performs other duties as assigned.
