Physical Therapist (Deptford, NJ)

Job Description Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our outpatient therapy services team in Deptford, New Jersey. Work schedule: full‑time, 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday. Responsibilities Provides physical therapy evaluations, interventions and patient/family education. Establishes and maintains appropriate documentation and communication with medical and clinical staff and outside agencies within the guidelines designated by state licensure, the department and Delaware Valley policies and procedures. Actively participates in departmental education activities to expand knowledge of patient populations and evidence‑based practice. Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all ages: pediatrics and adolescents; and neonates as required by assignment. Provides physical therapy services to a variety of patient types, recognizing personal limitations and seeking appropriate mentorship as needed. Completes timely documentation as required by departmental policy #7980.3.3, Joint Commission, and CARF standards. Attends meetings related to patient treatment and contributes to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member. Consults with other services, families, and outside agencies to recommend durable medical equipment, home/school modifications and transitional therapy program prior to discharge from therapy. Maintains knowledge of and familiarity with insurance referral/authorization process and documentation requirements related to therapy services. Completes all mandatory training; may include safety, infection control, corporate compliance, HIPAA, bioterrorism, CPR and program specific respiratory training. When required by assignment, participates in weekend/holiday inpatient coverage rotation. Requirements Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from a CAPTE accredited university is required; this is the entry‑level qualification. Minimum of three (3) to six (6) months of experience required; new graduates will be considered based on educational experiences. State of New Jersey Physical Therapist License or provisional/temporary license required upon hire. All clinical staff must hold a second license in DE; the applicant must submit license or proof of application within two weeks of job acceptance. The second license does not need to be active at the start of employment. Compact licensure acceptable for primary and secondary licensure when eligible and maintaining an active home‑state license in a Compact state. American Heart Association BLS certification required within six months of hire and must be maintained for the duration of employment. Membership in professional specialty organizations (APTA, state PT association) preferred. Pediatric experience preferred. Pelvic Floor experience preferred.
