The Healing Mind and Soul Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team as a remote counselor. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to provide vital telehealth services for children and families, enhancing the quality of care for those with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Work Environment\nThis role is conducted entirely through a telehealth setting, promoting a flexible work-life balance while ensuring access to crucial mental health services. You'll engage with clients remotely using secure video conferencing technology, allowing you to provide therapeutic support in the comfort of their own homes. Key Responsibilities\nAs a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, you will:

- Facilitate individual therapy sessions via telehealth, adapting your approach to meet each child's unique needs. \n
- Conduct group therapy sessions with families, focusing on developing essential coping strategies and social skills. \n
- Provide anger management support and tools, effectively reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injury and aggression. \n
- Help caregivers enhance their decision-making capabilities when faced with challenging in-home situations. \n
- Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to coordinate care for youth and families. \n
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and assessments. \n
- Participate in monthly meetings to discuss progress, share valuable insights, and develop strategies for improvement. \n
You will primarily work with children aged 3 to 20 years, along with their families, addressing a variety of mental health issues related to developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Your efforts will be instrumental in positively impacting their lives, equipping them with skills to manage their conditions effectively and leading to improved overall well-being.
Qualifications\nThe ideal candidate for this position must meet the following qualifications:

- A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. \n
- An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license. \n
- Availability of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during the after-school hours from 4-7 pm; weekend availability is a plus. \n
- A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for work-related travel, if needed. \n
- Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting. \n
While not mandatory, the following experiences will be seen as advantageous:

- Previous expertise in providing positive behavior support within therapeutic contexts. \n
- Direct experience working with children who have intellectual or developmental disabilities, enhancing your understanding of clients’ unique needs. \n
- Experience conducting both online and in-person family/group therapy sessions. \n
- Fluency in both Spanish and Portuguese to cater to our diverse client population. \n
