Whether you will spend your day brainstorming in an office cubicle, operating a crane, running manufacturing equipment or troubleshooting technical obstacles, at CMC, you'll get the training and support from your team that you need to excel in your role and reach your full potential.Diagnose malfunctions on equipment and perform repairsPerform preventive maintenance on engines and hydraulic systems for on and off road mobile equipment (including vehicles such as trucks and trailers) and maintains stationary equipmentOperate the following mobile equipment: loaders, forklifts, trucks, material handlers and other various equipment to troubleshootPerforms a wide range of physical activity including operating aerial lifts at various heightsUse computers to issue parts and update comments on work orders/task lists including diagnostic programs for engines and hydraulic systems, OEM, and brake systemsEnsure all jobs are completed in a proficient and safe manner when working within the plant and/or garage shop areas while wearing Personal Protective EquipmentAssist in inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy mobile equipment such as loaders, haul trucks, forklifts, manlifts, and mobile cranesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and ensure accurate documentation of all completed workParticipate in CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety CulturePerform routine preventive maintenance, lubrication, and basic component replacements following established proceduresRead and follow technical manuals, schematics, and drawings to support maintenance tasksSupport senior mechanics in completing repairs and coordinating work with operations to minimize downtimeUse basic diagnostic tools and test equipment to identify and verify equipment issuesMinimum 3 years experience with basic knowledge of hydraulic systems, mechanical and electronic engines, mobile equipment, and vehiclesMust be able to perform minor repairs and routine tasks efficiently, correctly, and safelyMust keep clean and safe work area and comply with all plant specific rules, procedures, and dutiesPositive attitude, willingness to learn from senior mechanics, and strong communication with team members and leadersAbility to read and follow technical manuals, diagrams, and schematicsAbility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to work in extreme temperatures and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, lifting, and working at heightsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredVocation School or previous Diesel Mechanic experience a plusCMC is committed to providing equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, physical or mental disability, national origin, citizenship, military or veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, or other status protected by federal, state or local law.
