Responsibilities include researching new/existing products, price negotiation, resolving technical issues, identifying cost savings opportunities, using data and reporting tools to identify trends and make recommendations, and monitoring open orders to ensure on-time delivery. The Senior Materials Specialist will work closely with multiple departments in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The position offers strong growth opportunities within Smalley. Responsibilities Manage and optimize raw material flow and availability for production operations Procurement and inventory control Research new and existing products; negotiate price Resolve technical issues and identify cost-saving opportunities Use data and reporting tools to identify trends and make recommendations Monitor open orders to ensure on-time delivery Collaborate with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required Materials Management certification a plus 7 years minimum purchasing experience required Experience in a manufacturing environment is desired Experience with metals, wire, or metallurgy is a plus Attention to detail and strong desire to learn and grow Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis Compensation A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 USD.
