Order Entry Clerk - 1st Shift

Position Summary: Based in Fairfield, OH the Order Entry Clerk position will perform essential job functions associated order entry with limited supervision. Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): Reviews industry and customer specifications to accurately create shop travelers, utilizing applicable standards, customer documentation, and input from the Planning department. Communicates with customers as needed to clarify or resolve purchase order discrepancies. Assists with various administrative tasks as required, including answering phones and general office support. Reports any unusual issues or irregularities to the supervisor promptly. Practices and promotes workplace safety and good housekeeping at all times. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsible for the care and proper handling of customer inventory, performing all duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent loss or damage. Expected to report to work on time, follow instructions, interact effectively with co‑workers, adhere to company policies and procedures, and accept constructive feedback. Serves as a backup for essential Shipping/Receiving functions, including operating a forklift when necessary. Creates customer profiles in the ERP system and submits AX setup requests to the Office Manager. Qualifications: This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder. Education – High school diploma or equivalent Minimum three year of experience in Data Entry/Customer Service in manufacturing or related industry. Requires basic knowledge of metallurgy, heat treating, and related subjects. Requires knowledge of and/or ability to quickly learn industry, customer and metallurgical standards. Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office/basic computer applications and good understanding of basic math. Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required. Physical & Mental Demands: Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment. Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions. Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions. Ability to lift 25-30 lbs. May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc. Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions. Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc. Ability to hear in person and via phone.
