Within the Material Handling department, you will perform Material Handling and Inventory tasks and regularly use PIT equipment and Hand held WMS. In addition to daily tasks, you will participate in safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives.We want enthusiastic, dependable, hard-working, standout colleagues that will make a difference for our customers and fellow colleagues every day. The impact you will have could be anything from delivering products that help a scientist discover a cure for cancer to helping a nurse care for a patient effectively because they have the right equipment.A Day in the Life:Receiving, examining, sorting, arranging, counting, storing, picking, and packing items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.Preparing and filing routine documentation.Maintaining quality metrics.Operating material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, pallet jack, Forklift etc).Working in and out of a +4c walk-in Cold Room and -20c walk-in Freezer.High school diploma or equivalent required.No previous work experience requiredPreferred: Experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related fieldPreferred: Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers)Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively.Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds.Demonstrates the Thermo Fisher values (The Four I's) – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
