Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
• Location: Baltimore, Maryland
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 23, 2026
• End Date: March 1, 2027
• Contract Duration: 14 weeks
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift: 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.; 36 hours per week
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:5
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend and designated holidays
• Floating: May float within scope to medical-surgical and medical-surgical telemetry units
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner experience preferred
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience
• Current Maryland or compact Registered Nurse license required at the time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Successful completion of a basic EKG assessment before orientation
• Maryland-approved trauma education required
• Completion of annual stroke and trauma-related continuing education requirements
• Experience with neurology, acute stroke care, and pre- and post-neurosurgical care
• Experience caring for patients with spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries
• Proficiency with telemetry, dysrhythmia recognition, IV therapy, central and PICC line care, feeding tubes, drains, wound care, oxygen therapy, and isolation precautions
• Experience with pre- and post-hemodialysis care and renal failure management
• Teaching hospital or Level I/II trauma experience preferred
• TCRN certification and prior charge nurse experience preferred

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with neurological, medical, surgical, and telemetry needs
• Care for patients with CVA, ischemic stroke, epilepsy, seizures, radiculopathy, cervical stenosis, rhabdomyolysis, alcohol withdrawal, and post-laminectomy, post-ACDF, or post-craniotomy conditions
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and continuous bedside EEG data, recognize changes in patient condition, and promptly escalate concerns
• Perform neurological assessments and support stroke, seizure, and neurosurgical care plans
• Provide pre- and post-procedure care, including surgical drain, wound, wound VAC, feeding-tube, and bladder-scan management
• Administer medications and blood products, manage heparin protocols, and care for central, PICC, and peripheral lines
• Use oxygen equipment, tracheostomy care techniques, PCA equipment, and other unit-based clinical resources within scope
• Collaborate with providers, rehabilitation services, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Float to comparable medical-surgical and telemetry units as needed while maintaining safe, high-quality patient care
