Mechanical Assembly TechnicianThe Mechanical Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling heavy equipment components, focusing on chassis electromechanical systems and side body components. In this role, you use blueprints and work instructions to build body components, install electrical wiring, and complete mechanical assemblies with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.ResponsibilitiesPerform mechanical assembly of heavy equipment components, including chassis electromechanical systems and side body components.Read and interpret blueprints, schematic-style work instructions, and tape measurements to complete assemblies accurately.Assemble body components and install electrical wiring on heavy trucks and related equipment.Use a variety of hand tools and power tools, including impact wrenches, sockets, and extensions, to complete assembly tasks.Perform hydraulic hose assembly and connect related components as required.Work on assembly lines and follow standardized processes to maintain quality and efficiency.Apply basic knowledge of heavy machinery, vehicle maintenance, automotive service, and repair to support assembly work.Follow preventive maintenance practices and handle components related to engines, diesel engines, pneumatics, and electrical systems as needed for assembly.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility safety standards.Demonstrate strong attention to detail, verifying work against specifications and making adjustments when necessary.Participate in training, actively learn new procedures, and continuously improve mechanical and assembly skills.Essential SkillsMechanical aptitude and strong interest in mechanical assembly work.Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.Experience reading tape measures and following blueprint or schematic-style work instructions.Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality assemblies.Willingness to train, learn new skills, and follow established processes.Comfort working with heavy machinery, vehicle components, and construction or diesel equipment.Basic understanding of engines, engine repair, automotive repair, and assembly line processes.Ability to work with pneumatic and electrical components in an assembly environment.Capability to perform hydraulic hose assembly and related mechanical connections.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with construction equipment, diesel engines, and preventive maintenance practices.Experience working on assembly lines or in production environments.Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprint-style work instructions.Comfort using tape measures and working to precise measurements.Experience with construction, mechanical repair, or related trades is a plus.Why Work Here?Employees enjoy a supportive environment with strong benefits, including a competitive benefits package, a 6% 401(k) match, and weekly pay. The workplace is clean, organized, and focused on safety, providing a safe environment for working with heavy equipment and mechanical assemblies. Multiple shifts are available, including a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., a third shift from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. with initial training on first shift for two weeks, and a weekend shift from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., also with initial training on first shift for the first two weeks. You work with a variety of hand and power tools, heavy machinery components, and electromechanical systems in a production-style setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of LaFayette, GA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
