Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role involves providing high-quality patient care within a 55-bed unit, primarily managing cardiovascular cases with a focus on adult and geriatric populations. The position offers a night shift schedule, requiring experience in cardiac telemetry and related procedures, with a strong emphasis on patient safety and clinical expertise.

Job Details:

• Shift Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: 2 years of nursing experience, ACLS and BLS certifications; NIHSS preferred; located within a 50-mile radius of Albuquerque; experience in cardiac telemetry and cardiovascular care required
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, chest tube management, dysrhythmia interpretation, wound care, and ventilator management
• Additional Information:
  • Unit staff ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
  • Must be willing to float to similar units within scope as needed
  • Recent experience managing cardiac drips and post-procedure patient care preferred
  • Orientation hours: 24 hours completed onsite during onboarding process
  • Days of coverage: 5 days per week, with some weekend rotation as needed
  • Facility provides interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and pharmacy
  • Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, and other cardiovascular conditions
  • No specific on-call requirement
