Position Overview

• Department: Cardiovascular ICU - CVICU
• Schedule: Available Shifts
  • Part-Time Nights, 7:00 p.m to 7:00 a.m. with Rotating Schedule
  • Full-time Nights 7:00 p.m to 7:00 a.m.
• Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham has 17 bed s and provides specialized care to critically ill patients recovering from complex cardiothoracic , vascular , and cardiac procedures. Our fast-paced critical care unit offers opportunities for growth through collaboration with other members of the care team, continuing education, and leadership development .

What You Will Do

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND Required professional licensure at time of hire.
