Physical Requirements - Sitting and standing for long periods of time; lifting and/or carrying up to 15 lbs; reaching and bending; using step ladder to reach objects on upper shelving

Shift - M-F business hours with occasional evenings and/or weekends due to experiments

This is a one-year position with the possibility of extension based on funding, departmental needs, and/or satisfactory performance.

Job Summary - Dr. Anel Jaramillo in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department in the College of Pharmacy is seeking a full-time, temporary, preclinical research technician position. This position is full time at 40 hours per week. The primary responsibility will be to conduct general laboratory management and assist with research projects that examine the function of neural circuits regulating anxiety and alcohol-related behaviors. This includes but is not limited to, rodent care, stereotaxic surgery, brain dissections, tissue analysis, basic microscopy and behavioral data collection. Additionally, the individual will maintain research space, manage general inventory, maintain safety documentation, maintain good laboratory practices, and a safe working environment according to standard procedures. No research experience is required. This is a one-year position with the possibility of extension based on funding, departmental needs, and/or satisfactory performance.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? - No

Preferred Education/Experience - Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or equivalent field.
