Position Overview:

This role involves assessing and providing treatment for patients experiencing physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial challenges.

• Evaluate patients' capabilities to safely and effectively carry out daily living activities. Develop a tailored care plan that specifies the type and frequency of treatment.
• Execute the treatment plan utilizing suitable modalities. Record patient progress and adjust the care plan as necessary. Seek guidance when required.
• Inform patients and their families/caregivers about identified deficits. Assist with the discharge process from therapy services and offer guidance on selecting and using adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervise care provided by designated personnel in accordance with established regulations and professional standards.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness and ensure safety in all activities.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Education:

• A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field, as required for licensure in the state of practice.

Experience:

• No prior experience is necessary.

• Continuous standing.
• Regular lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of objects weighing between 0-25 lbs.
• Frequent use of hearing and speech for effective oral communication.
• Regular auditory skills to identify body sounds and detect alarms or malfunctioning equipment.
• Consistent visual acuity for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
• Frequent walking, reaching, gripping, and data entry tasks.
• Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
• Occasional patient handling.
• Occasional visual tasks to assess distances and spatial relationships, as well as to distinguish colors.
• Occasional driving.
• Rare crawling.

Resuscitation Certification: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification is required within 90 days of employment. Additional resuscitation certifications may be necessary based on departmental needs.

State Licensure Requirements:

• Illinois: Occupational Therapist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Missouri: Occupational Therapist - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
• Oklahoma: Occupational Therapist - Oklahoma Medical Board
• Wisconsin: Occupational Therapist (OT) - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
