Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Credit Trade Floor

Salary: $115,000 - 160,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for proven incident management capability, including rapid troubleshooting, clear stakeholder communication, and root cause analysis to reduce repeat issues.
• We need strong systems engineering expertise, with deep knowledge of Windows, Linux, networking fundamentals, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and Python automation.
• We value a structured approach to solving complex technical problems and delivering effective fixes that preserve reliability and performance.
• We require hands-on experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks for critical platforms, including tools such as ITRS Geneos.
• We expect solid experience with databases and SQL to support troubleshooting, data analysis, and performance tuning.
• We highly value prior support experience in Credit or other Investment Banking asset classes such as Rates, Equities, or FX.
• We value exposure to IaaS and/or PaaS environments, virtualization, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure management across compute, network, and storage.
• We welcome familiarity with Generative AI tools for automation, analysis, or operational efficiency.
• We need strong communication and stakeholder management skills for engaging with senior business and technology partners.
• We may assess risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and role-specific technical skills.
• The role is based in our New York, NY office.

• We will rely on you to monitor and maintain our critical technology infrastructure and resolve more complex technical issues while minimizing operational disruption.
• You will support the IB Credit SRE team by applying reliability engineering practices to improve the stability, availability, and resilience of trading platforms.
• You will work closely with technology and infrastructure teams across the organization to deliver a high-quality service for our Credit Trading and Sales desks.
• You will provide technical support for service management, helping resolve more complex issues for a specific client or group of clients.
• You will help shape the support model and service offering to improve outcomes for customers and stakeholders.
• You will carry out preventative maintenance on hardware and software and use monitoring tools and metrics to identify and prevent potential issues.
• You will maintain detailed documentation of resolved cases to support future reference, self-service, and knowledge sharing.
• You will analyze logs, error messages, and user reports to identify root causes and implement fixes such as hardware replacement, software reinstallation, or configuration changes.
• You will contribute to automation, monitoring enhancements, capacity management, resiliency, business continuity, front office support, and stakeholder coordination.
• You will identify service-impacting risks and issues and remediate them or raise them through the appropriate process.
• You will proactively automate support activities where appropriate to maintain stability and improve efficiency.
• You will tune monitoring tools, thresholds, and alerts so issues are detected promptly when they occur.
• As an Assistant Vice President, you may advise decision-making, contribute to policy development, lead complex work, coach colleagues, consult on escalated issues, and help strengthen risk and control practices.
