Competitive pay with shift differentials Robust Benefits Package The Emergency Department at ChristianaCare Union Hospital is seeking a Emergency Department CNA 2 Licensed CNA in the state of Maryland or other US state required. Licensed CNA's are required to perform provision of nursing assistant care within scope of practice including IV insertions. We are currently hiring for a Part Time Sr. CNA to work Full Time 12 hours per Week/24 bi-weekly, Day/Evening 12 hour shift from 11:00am - 11:00pm for the Emergency Department Unit at Cecil Campus - Union Hospital. Rotating Weekends and Holidays as per department guidelines. Demonstrates skills and knowledge vital to deliver care appropriate to patients in various stages of development. Performs assigned nursing duties for the comfort and well-being of patients. Responds to patient crisis and initiates interventions within the scope of responsibilities and notifies RN. Job duties include, but not limited to, performing, and accurately recording vital signs, Accu-checks, bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobilizing patients. Performs successful finger sticks on patients, following all standard laboratory safety policies. Performs defined procedures on point of care instrumentation and EKGs. Following established policies and procedures, additional duties may include phlebotomy venipuncture. Responds with promptness, compassion, and interest to needs of patients. Order entry into Meditech Communicates to patients, employees, and physicians using courteous verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates proficiency using required computer skills to document in the electronic medical record. Performs Unit Clerk duties such as, answering phones, entering charges, calling provider consults, setting up patient transportation, assisting staff with clerical needs and audits and coordinates maintenance of unit supplies. Scheduling and frequent contact with Provider offices. Completes required in-service education. Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients, and visitors. Performs other related duties as required. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Education and experience requirements High school graduate or equivalent AND one or more of the below qualifications: Previous patient care experience including taking vital signs Nursing student who has successfully completed clinical hours or completion of a Certified Nursing Licensed CNA in the state of Maryland or other US state required. Licensed CNA's are required to perform provision of nursing assistant care within scope of practice including IV insertions Special requirements BLS Certification required. Licensed CNA in the state of Maryland/Obtain Maryland License prior to start date to practice IV insertions. Working conditions Risk Exposure Category A – Potential for exposure to blood borne/pathogens, HIV, Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C in the performance of this job. Hourly Pay Range: $19.48 - $28.24 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
