May be asked to work as a backup Charge Nurse

Coordinates total nursing care for patients

Participates in patient and family teaching

Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting

Nurse to patient ratio: 1 to 4/5

Average daily patient census: 22

Travelers may not take all holidays off. MUST work TWO blocks (if scheduled/needed):

Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and weekend after

Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and weekend after

New Year Eve through New Year Day and weekend after

Local travelers - Those who reside within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this need.

This is a small community without public transport. Traveler candidate must have their own vehicle. This is a firm requirement.

8hrs non-billable orientation Call-back, Holiday and OT multipliers: 1.25% Call: ***/hour Charge: ***/hr

Requirement Description: NOTE, THIS IS A MED SURG POSITION! Traveler must be willing to float to any unit within their scope of practice. BLOCK SCHEDULING WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS NEED. 48hr guarantee is not available for this need. CALL IS REQUIRED FOR THIS NEED. DO NOT UPLOAD A TRAVELER WHO WILL NOT TAKE CALL.

• 2 years recent Med Surg & Rehab experience - [Required]
• May float between Acute Rehab and Med Surg and to any unit within scope of practice
• CHARGE RN EXPERIENCE [REQUIRED] - Not negotiable!
• Previous Travel (at least 3 months) - [Required]
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing / BSN [preferred]
• This is a small community without public transport. Traveler candidate must have their own vehicle. This is a firm requirement.
• Perm address must be included in traveler profile
• Any/All RTO must be included in profile. ALL SCHEDULING REQUESTS MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION. Facility will NOT approve scheduling requests at/after time of offer. Please obtain this information prior to submittal. Requests after offer may lead to rescinded offer

• Active American Heart Association ACLS - [REQUIRED] [DOCUMENT]

NOTE MT ASCUTNEY 3 STRIKE RULE FOR CALL OFFS (enforced immediately):

• After 3 call offs, a traveler's contract will be eligible for termination due to lack of attendance at Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center's discretion
• Each call off must be communicated to the unit supervisor at least 1.5 hours in advance
