About the Position

• Provide primary nursing care to PCU and step-down patients.
• Perform continuous telemetry and cardiac monitoring.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips.
• Monitor vital signs and recognize changes in patient condition.
• Perform fingerstick blood glucose testing.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
• Provide patient assessments and appropriate nursing interventions.
• Accurately document patient care using Meditech.
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Float to other acute-care units as needed, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER.

Requirements

• Current Hawaii RN license required by the start of the assignment.
• Candidates without an active Hawaii license must apply upon acceptance of offer.
• Minimum 1 year of hospital acute-care experience within the last year.
• Progressive Care and Telemetry experience preferred.
• ACLS preferred.
• Current PALS preferred.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
• Strong telemetry monitoring and critical-thinking skills.
