Why does the job exist?

This position is responsible for advanced auditing and supervising employees of a variety of payment vouchers/approvals primarily travel vouchers. This person will also serve as the Department P-Card Administrator. Adhering to State/Federal Rules/Regulations, the NM State Procurement Code & NM State Per Diem Act. This position will also be responsible to provide subject matter expertise to lower level audit/financial staff In the various facilities/divisions.

How does it get done?

Conduct comprehensive/complete audits of primarily travel vouchers to also include all types of payment vouchers submitted for approval. Reviews of financial documents associated with vendor reimbursements and audits of Share vouchers to ensure compliance. Address concerns timely and professionally regarding payment vouchers through excellent customer service. P-Card administrator manages the Department P-Card Program and monthly reconciliation.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or Business Administration and two (2) years directly related work experience in accounting, auditing, finance and/or budgeting. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Travel throughout the state and occasional out of state travel is required.
