Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care : Provide compassionate and attentive care to patients in the Medical Surgical Care Department, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • EKG Proficiency : Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) accurately and efficiently to monitor patients' heart activity.
  • Vital Signs Monitoring : Regularly measure and record patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate.
  • Splinting : Apply and adjust splints as needed, ensuring proper immobilization and comfort for patients.
  • Glucometer Use : Utilize glucometers to check and record patients' blood glucose levels, and report any abnormalities to the nursing or medical staff.
  • Phlebotomy Skills : Perform blood draws with precision and care, ensuring samples are collected and labeled correctly for lab analysis.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) : Maintain a current BLS certification to provide immediate care in emergency situations.
Qualifications:

  • State Licensing : Must hold an active Certified Nursing Assistant license in the State of Maine.
  • Experience : Demonstrated proficiency in EKG, vital signs monitoring, splinting, and glucometer use.
  • Phlebotomy : Competence in performing phlebotomy is essential.
  • BLS Certification : A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
