Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Float Pool Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience Description: The role is focused on providing high-quality nursing care in various emergency room settings. Traveling nurses are expected to float within designated zones as required. Nurses will manage a diverse patient population and handle a variety of clinical situations. Common patient diagnoses may include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension. Nurse-to-patient ratios will vary based on acuity. The emergency rooms may operate as trauma receiving facilities. The role involves the ability to work with medications in emergency care settings. Point-of-care lab testing will be a part of the responsibilities. There are shifts available throughout the week, including weekends and holidays. The position requires flexibility and adaptability to different clinical environments. Focus on teamwork and collaboration with other healthcare professionals is essential. RNs will need to possess the ability to interpret telemetry. Each shift will present unique challenges and learning opportunities. Strong critical thinking skills and quick decision-making are essential in this role. All candidates must be prepared to participate in department-specific orientation.
