Our virtual care program operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week , serving as a critical extension of our urgent care network and an increasingly important access point to the broader Yale New Haven Health system. Since launching, the virtual team has maintained exceptional stability, supported by experienced providers, strong operational leadership, and a shared commitment to delivering outstanding patient care.

Important

Previous telehealth experience is required. This role supports an established, high-performing virtual care program, and candidates must be comfortable independently evaluating and treating patients within a telemedicine environment from day one.

Your Role

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients through phone and video telehealth visits.
• Obtain focused histories, review medical records, and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing when clinically appropriate.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Consult with colleagues and specialists as needed to optimize patient outcomes.
• Coordinate referrals and escalation to in-person care when clinically indicated.
• Deliver compassionate, efficient care that supports an exceptional patient experience.

Key Clinical Knowledge Areas

Providers should possess strong clinical knowledge and experience managing common urgent care presentations across all age groups, including:

• Upper respiratory infections
• Asthma and COPD
• Rashes and skin infections
• Allergic reactions
• Eye infections and injuries
• Headaches
• Chest pain and cardiac complaints
• Musculoskeletal injuries, sprains, and fractures

Qualifications

• Active Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts licenses required
• Controlled Substance Registration
• Federal DEA Registration
• Board Certification as an Advanced Practitioner
• ACLS Certification
• PALS Certification
• Prior telehealth experience required
• Strong independent clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced virtual care environment

Residency Requirement

Candidates must reside within one of our service states: Connecticut, New York, or Massachusetts.

Compensation

$70-$80 per hour based on experience
