BIM/VDC Technician - Industrial Electric, Inc

VDC Technician — Industrial Electric, Inc. Industrial Electric, Inc. is a full-service electrical and systems contractor focusing on industrial, advanced technology, and commercial projects. Responsibilities The VDC Technician is involved in the entire phase of construction, including BIM modeling and AutoCAD design. Creation of BIM models and drawings through all phases of the project – schematic design, design development, and the creation of construction documents. BIM coordination and daily management of BIM project data sets/workflows and project set up. Generate finished electrical design AutoCAD drawings and manage the drawing file storage system. Negotiate and price all owner change orders while managing project costs by evaluating labor, material, and equipment. Forecast and analyze electrical construction costs, exposures, and profits through completion. Supervise and mentor the project team while overseeing field operations and engineering processes and procedures. Direct preparation of a project schedule and continually review to ensure the schedule is adhered to or modified as necessary. Skills and Knowledge Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and effective time management. Works independently with little or no supervision and has an interest in quickly learning and applying new skills. Ability to multi-task in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Proactive problem solver with outstanding interpersonal skills. Commitment to excellence. What It Takes Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is a plus. Extensive experience directly related with BIM, AutoCAD MEP, Revit drafting, design, and modeling. Graduate of a technical school or completed internship program preferred.
